On June 29, 2026, the National Social Work Coalition was incorporated in the State of Delaware, marking a major milestone for the organization as a first step towards becoming a not for profit 501(c)(6) organization. This reflects the work of numerous stakeholders who, after months of Google Meetings, and email exchanges, came together to address the elephant in the room: what is happening to our profession? As our institutions and professional homes have withered and collapsed under the weight of “reorganization” efforts, what is happening right in front of our eyes?
With this in mind, we have dedicated ourselves to developing and fostering a culture of openness which mirrors the tenets of the prevailing professional Code of Ethics in order to promote the restoration of grass root communities, and sustainable professional relationships. For that reason, we are organized as a coalition, and not as a unitary entity. Power belongs in the communities, and our colleagues have voices that need to be heard, in the streets, online and in the state houses.
Please peruse our forums, and let us know what you are thinking. We look forward to working with you in the future. For more information, please contact us at NSWC Information.
